For 700 years the Frescobaldi family has combined tradition, experience and innovation with creativity and the pursuit of excellence. The family has always tried to develop and celebrate the diversity of the Tuscan terroir. Being proud owners of some of the largest vineyards in the region, they have always tried to maintain the identity and autonomy of each property. Ornellaia, known as one of the most iconic wineries in the world, reached the prime of its development under the ownership of the Frescobaldi family.

It was in 1981 that the Marquis Lodovico Antinori, cousin of Piero Antinori, founded the Ornellaia Estate, in the heart of the Bolgheri area, a few kilometers from the Mediterranean coast. Thus, with the first harvest of 1985, what would become an icon among the SuperTuscans was born: "l'Ornellaia", subsequently, in the 1990s, the other two labels were born: "Le Volte" and "Le Serre Nuove".
