Marco Temesio and Gabriele Maglio are the two partners who created the Cascina Nirasca farm in 2003 : one of their intentions was to create a wine that is easy to drink , pleasant but distinguishable .
And this is how Cascina Nirasca's Ormeasco di Pornassio is born: ruby red with violet reflections in the glass, pleasant hints of red fruits and a slight spiciness that teases the nose without weighing it down. In the mouth it is a clean and persistent wine .
Because Ormeasco has a very interesting history : it is a close relative of Dolcetto and arrives in Liguria through the Benedictine monks ' dedication to viticulture ! Then when the Marquises of Clavesana , Lords of Pornassio , understood the nobility and potential of this vine, they issued an edict that imposed its plant in 1303 .
In short: in addition to a good wine to drink , you also bring a story to tell on the table that will make you look like one of the sector ! What do you say?
Cascina Nirasca's Ormeasco di Pornassio can be paired with any meal .
Good structure and complexity , with a nice acidity that leaves a pleasant sensation of cleanliness ; characteristics that lend themselves to combinations with meat-based first courses such as Genoese ravioli a 'U Tuccu' .
If drunk between 18 and 20 ° C this wine will surprise you with its nuances .
The harvest takes place in the second ten days of October . The vinification is traditional , with fermentation in contact with the skins - use of selected and autochthonous yeasts , both at 50% . The must ages for 6 months in steel and then at least 3 months in the bottle .
The production area ranges between Pornassio, Acquetico, Nirasca and Armo , in the province of Imperia , in western Liguria .
The terrain is rocky .
