The " Montej Rosso " Monferrato DOC of Villa Sparina is a very pleasant Piedmontese red wine made mainly with Barbera grapes .
The Moccagatta family manages the estate with its own motto " wine as a creative principle ", placing its winemaking reality at the center of its integrated system of hospitality and catering. Since the 1970s, this reality has been carrying on a qualitative consistency worthy of a Bordeaux chateau, a great reality that has always led the conviction of best supporting the terroir.
This Monferrato Rosso "Montej" opens to the nose with a pleasant fruity bouquet , there is no shortage of spices to tease a good complexity. On the palate it is soft and medium-bodied , the fruity aftertaste confirms a good persistence.
Because it is one of those interesting wines, one of those wines that tell the story of the territory without distorting tradition.
But above all because this is a wine that will introduce you to a small (but important) niche in the Piedmont area .
Perfect to accompany first courses , especially meat dishes, also ideal in combination with roasts and aged cheeses .
Uncork it and let it breathe in the glass, to be served at a temperature of 18-20 ℃ .
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for about two weeks, then the wine ages for 4 months partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in barriques before being bottled.
We are located in the Gavi area, in the province of Alessandria .
The soils on which the vineyards are grown are mostly clayey .
