It was 2016 when Giancarlo tried a Sangiovese aged in amphora at Vinitaly and wondered why not trying to put his own vines in amphora.
This is how the " In Amphoris " of the Ronchi company were born: the Langhe Bianco in question is produced from 100% Arneis grapes , a native Piedmontese white grape variety , grown in the vineyards of the Roero area.
A full white wine with a straw yellow color , which on the nose expresses an intense floral scent of wisteria , herbaceous and fruity candied pear , which on the palate is round and savory and with a long and warm finish.
The Ronchi farm was created at the end of the nineteenth century and for years it evolved , transformed and revolutionized day after day. This is why you should drink it : because you are taking a sip of tradition mixed with a passion for your territory .
And then because the refinement in terracotta amphora , handmade in Italy , causes the wine to undergo micro-oxygenation without the interference of wood. In short : think about telling this anecdote to your friends that it makes you look great !
We imagine this Langhe Bianco for a nice meal in the company of someone special : it is suitable for roasted white meats , baked white fish , flans and fried vegetables , soft medium-aged cheeses.
Excellent to drink at a temperature of 12-14 ° C in a tulip-shaped glass .
If you do n't have the opportunity to uncork it immediately , however, rest assured : if kept lying down, in the dark and away from vibrations and sudden changes in temperature, Ronchi 's Langhe Bianco can be preserved very well up to 4-6 years after harvest .
The grapes are usually harvested by hand in the second ten days of September. The vinification then begins with the de- stemming and soft pressing of the bunches . Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature around 16-18 ° C in steel containers . The maturation takes place in terracotta amphorae for at least 8 months before proceeding with bottling in the late spring following the harvest . An adequate refinement in the bottle follows.
Langhe Bianco is produced from 100% Arneis grapes , a native Piedmontese white grape variety, grown in the vineyards of the Roero area , and more particularly in the Bosco area , facing east and south-east on medium -textured soils .
Medium-textured soil with sandy infiltrations on a marly skeleton .
