Dolcetto d'Alba is a red wine from the Prunotto company, a great classic produced by a Piedmontese institution .
An agile sip , it can be said easy , which presents itself to the sight of a bright ruby red color with light purple reflections . Intense aromas of ripe fruit appear on the nose , including cherry , black cherry , plum and blackberry . Floral notes of violets and other red flowers , herbaceous and slightly spicy hints of pepper .
Because it is an immediate and drinkable red wine , a wine for every meal and every occasion . In the mouth it is full , warm , soft and enveloping , characterized by a pleasant freshness - at times savory - and by a slightly almond finish .
This Dolcetto d'Alba is the most classic Piedmontese table wine : to be paired with appetizers and cheeses, not too seasoned.
Perfect to drink immediately , it does not require oxygenation to open. The opening slightly narrower than the body of the glass favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas .
Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes were de- stemmed and crushed . Maceration took six days at a maximum temperature of 27-28 degrees . The malolactic fermentation , which ended in mid-December, preceded the refinement which took place in stainless steel tanks .
The vineyards are located in the heart of the Langhe , in Alba , in the province of Cuneo . Its 4.5 hectares of vineyards are located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level with south-west / west exposure.
The soil in which this Dolcetto Alba di Prunotto is produced is clayey , silty and sandy .
