Do you know the Chianti area in Tuscany ? Its immense hills , vineyards and their shades ?
Here: Castello di Radda has taken this cross -section and masterfully poured it into its Chianti Classico DOCG .
Grapes 90% Sangiovese , 10% Colorino and Canaiolo produce clean and classic lines with hints of fruit and ripe plum to the taste, aromas of violets , with balsamic and graphite notes on the nose and an intense ruby red in the glass.
Because the Azienda Agricola Castello di Radda has shown clear ideas about the style of their wines right from the start and this Chianti Classico DOCG is proof of that!
We start from the assumption that Chianti , in itself, is a wine that makes everyone agree , you don't need too many excuses.
Do you fancy a glass of red ? Have a Chianti and you're good to go .
It must be said, however, that Chianti is the perfect wine to accompany meat : made to be shared with friends , perhaps with a barbecue in the background and some side cheese .
In short, whatever happens, we were you, we would always keep a bottle in the cellar . Whether it's to drink alone or in company!
Take Castello di Radda's Chianti Classico DOCG , a tasting glass and pour it around 18 ° C.
At the beginning of October the harvest starts, strictly manual with a preliminary selection of the grapes in the vineyard and a subsequent one with the use of a sorting table. The grapes are left to ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats . Maceration of the grapes on the skins follows for 2-3 weeks. This permanence is allowed by the perfect degree of ripeness of the grapes . Subsequently, the fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats and oak barrels which helps to make the wine more pleasant to drink . At the end of this phase, the aging period begins which takes place partly in tonneaux and partly in 20 hl Slavonian oak barrels . Following bottling , the wine is aged in the bottle for at least 6 months.
The Castello di Radda farm is located on the hill facing the village of Radda in Chianti to the east, under the castle of Volpaia .
Predominantly clayey-calcareous with a good presence of siliceous skeleton .
