Description

A historic wine producer: the Jermann winery was founded in 1881 by combining the passion and foresight of a family of Slovenian origin, who grew up in Austrian vineyards and landed in Villanova di Farra, in the province of Gorizia.

In a few years the members of the family become owners of vineyards and in the seventies Silvio Jermann leads the family winery to the top of Italian and world quality.

At sight this Chardonnay shows an intense straw yellow with greenish hues. The nose is intense with banana, golden apple, peach and citrus fruit, chamomile, white flowers and wild herbs and hay. On the palate it is soft, enveloping and fruity, of medium structure with final fresh acidity.

Why you should drink it

Because a Chardonnay never refuses!

And why Jermann created an entire winery based on quality and passion - and guess what? Both of these two characteristics are perfectly reflected in this wine! In short, you can't miss it.

When to uncork it

The right combo to enjoy the maximum expression of this Chardonnay is in the fish!

If you are organizing a romantic dinner with fish appetizers, fresh cheeses and seafood first courses, this bottle is certainly not missing.

How to drink it

We like to drink Chardonnay at 10 ° C.

Vinification and Aging

The harvest takes place manually when the grapes have reached optimum ripeness . The vinification is traditional in white in stainless steel, where the wine rests for a few months on the fine lees even at the end of the alcoholic fermentation . After bottling, the wine rests for a few more months before being placed on the market.

Territory

The riesling vineyards used for the production of this wine enjoy differentiated exposures ranging from South-East to North-West, in the vineyards of the Villanova estate, in Farra d'Isonzo.

Soil

Prevailing marls and sandstones belonging to the Flysch formation of the Eocene age that give rise to a rocky substrate which transforms itself into the characteristic “ponca” of the Collio area.
