At the end of the 90s the brothers Marilisa and Walter Allegrini, experienced producers of extraordinary Veneto wines , decided to throw themselves into the wake of the enological success achieved by the Bolgheri area .
Having found the perfect area, they start their project.
The Bolgheri Rosso DOC "Il Seggio" by Poggio al Tesoro is a dense ruby red wine , which brings hints of wild berries, marine scrub, tobacco and mineral splashes to the nose. The mouth is medium-bodied with notes of red berried fruit.
This red, which takes its name from the most important waterway in the Municipality of Castagneto Carducci, will make you fall in love at the first sip.
In fact, Seggio is the typical Bordeaux-style wine, which combines its modernity with a more Mediterranean aspect.
Elegant, silky and enveloping with a precise, clean and lively finish: what are you waiting for to try it and be convinced directly by the wine itself?
Imagine being at home, with the lights suffused, and the table set for a special aperitif: some cured meats and some medium-aged cheeses, while the scent of meat wafts from the oven.
The Bolgheri Rosso DOC "Il Seggio" is the perfect wine to accompany all those autumn dishes at the table, but not only...try it while you're cooking or on the sofa, in front of the creaking fireplace!
The best serving temperature is between 16 - 18° C.
After the harvest which is around the beginning of October, the grapes are softly pressed and left to ferment for about 12 days, subsequently aged for 15 months in French oak barriques, partly new and partly second passage.
Poggio al Tesoro , a historic farm in Valpolicella Veneto , created in 2001 by the Allegrini family, is today a thriving estate of 70 hectares, 60 of which are vineyards, located in the main wine area of Bolgheri , in the Livorno Maremma.
The company is spread over four plots: three in Bolgheri and one in the municipality of Bibbona. Different variety of soils, dry, sunny and windy climate.
