Have you ever wondered how much a producer family is tied to its territory?
Since 1996 , the Ronchi agricultural company has borne the name of one of the most prestigious geographical mentions of Barbaresco, created at the end of the nineteenth century by Carlo Rocca, great-grandfather of Giancarlo Rocca, the current owner.
At the threshold of the 1960s, the vinification of the grapes began, in particular those of Nebbiolo, an important challenge which brought the first recognition to the company's Barbaresco already in 1975 when, at the National Congress of the AIS in Alba, it was selected in a tasting blindly as a prototype of Barbaresco to be presented to sommeliers from all over Italy: an excellent credential for the Italian market that is starting to get to know Barbaresco, like Barbaresco Ronchi.
In the 90s, foreign markets also opened, starting an expansion that today ranges from the United States to Japan. Furthermore, in 1996 Giancarlo arrived, a corporate protagonist who left his mark on the family business, bringing a new environmental sensitivity to cultivation of the vineyard to promote natural balance.

But what does producing wines in Barbaresco mean?
Among the red wines of Piedmont we find Barbaresco, a different product from Barolo, with which it shares a grape variety and production area, but has an equally fascinating history.
Barolo traces its origins to an important dynasty, that of the Marquis Carlo Tancredi Falletti of Barolo, he experimented for the first time with the refining of this wine in underground environments, an intuition that even intrigued King Carlo Alberto of Savoy.
The value of Barbaresco lies precisely in not possessing aristocratic blood, but a more popular dimension linked to tradition. It was launched commercially only in 1894 by Domino Gavazza, director of the Royal School of Oenology of Alba, even if the oldest bottle labeled with the name “Barbaresco” dates back to 1870.
Therefore we can say that producing in the Barbaresco area means being ambassadors of a historical territory with a high level of production, it is no coincidence that in the collective imagination Barolo and Barbaresco go hand in hand, as a reality of similar national importance.
The history of the Ronchi company has been part of the happy rise of Barbaresco in the world wine scene for four generations. The Nebbiolos produced in Barbaresco have always been considered the most subtle and elegant of the Langa, wines with great drinkability but with the possibility of long aging: an example above all is the Barbaresco Ronchi di Ronchi .
If you produce quality wines in the Langhe, especially between the municipalities of Neive, Treiso and Barbaresco, your flagship product can only be Barbaresco, even better if your Nebbiolo comes from some vineyards, which in the Langhe are called MGA, additional geographical mentions, considered of historical value, exactly with Ronchi.
The Barbaresco di Ronchi offers intense aromas with elegant fruity hints, while in the mouth it is full, broad and full-bodied, after a first sip you will be enveloped in an ethereal sensation, which will accompany you to discover all the nuances of the territory and family tradition.

Another quality product from this company is the Langhe Nebbiolo In Amphoris , a red wine whose peculiarity is the maturation in terracotta amphorae: in fact, the Ronchi agricultural company has been producing a white wine and a red wine matured in terracotta amphorae for several years. terracotta handmade in Italy.
Fine, original and fruity aromas, with a fresh, decidedly tannic, but robust and full-bodied sip, a Nebbiolo with attention to every detail, from the bunch to the bottle, with grapes grown in proprietary vines and in this case the terracotta tells us a story new Langa.
One more reason to try this unique story.

It was 2016 when Giancarlo tried a Sangiovese aged in amphora, the Langhe Bianco “In Amphoris” was born at this time, it is produced from pure Arneis grapes, an indigenous Piedmontese white grape variety, grown in the vineyards of the Roero area.
As mentioned before, the Ronchi company was created at the end of the nineteenth century and since then the evolution continues, it transforms and revolutionizes itself day after day, this is the reason why you should drink it: because you are drinking a sip of tradition mixed with passion for your territory.
And then because the refinement in terracotta amphora causes the wine to undergo micro-oxygenation without the interference of the wood, think about telling this anecdote to your friends, what a great impression it will make you make!
