Venetian wines find their origins in the pre-Roman era, a history that reached its peak during the domination of the Republic of Venice, then encountering a decline due to various factors that affected Italian vineyards, the situation began to recover in Veneto and today it is the most productive region in Italy in terms of quantity and quality of wines.
In Veneto, in fact, there are both mountainous, hilly and flat areas, with soils ranging from volcanic to alluvial, to the west is the renowned Valpolicella, the most important vines are Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara.
Some companies produce red wines based on international vines such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but in Veneto we cannot forget the original wine area of Prosecco, produced with the vine now called Glera, which now represents the most important Italian sparkling wine district.

How distinctive is the history of Venetian wines?
Let's start by saying that there is no territory in the world where wine has such extensive, identifying, varied and ancient roots. In Veneto, vines and wine are an integral part of the history, culture and landscape of this region.
The turning point occurred during the declining phase of the Republic of Venice, the importation of wines decreased drastically offering a possibility of development to local wines, it is in this moment that the fame of the wines from the Treviso area, Vicenza and obviously of Valpolicella.

An example? The native techniques, such as drying the grapes on racks, to obtain a majestic wine such as the Amarone della Valpolicella “Postera” DOCG by Cantina Marara , a great Venetian red wine born in Marano, in the heart of Valpolicella, famous and exported even across the border.
We are talking about a red produced with 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 10% Croatina, Oseleta and other vines, all characteristic vines which are best expressed in this bottle, resulting truly fine, velvety and warm, with broad and fragrant aromas , excellent to try land dishes or even better with red meats.
International vines also play an important role in Veneto, in fact the Allegrini family decided to create Merlot Del Veneto Igt , produced with 100% Merlot grapes, thus creating an everyday wine that contains innovation in the glass, creating something different and curious who, moreover, speaks in a simple and direct way.
We cannot talk about Veneto without mentioning Prosecco, the wine that perhaps more than any other has managed to export Made in Italy wine to the world, and is mostly produced in Veneto itself.
In the Prapian estates, in the Valdobbiadene DOCG, Prosecco Valdobbiadene Extra Dry Bio is born which contains the classic magic of this territory formed over the centuries, thanks to the hard work of many generations.
