How important are guide awards?
Wine guides play a vital role in the wine industry, providing detailed ratings and reviews based on careful tastings, helping to classify wines according to various qualities.
Definitely a valuable orientation tool when choosing what to drink, furthermore the guides have started to focus on promoting sustainable practices, positively influencing the industry towards greater environmental responsibility.
The guides are not just a raw judgment of the wines, but a real pillar of the Italian and international wine sector, points of reference that quench consumers' thirst for knowledge and spur producers towards excellence, increasingly raising quality standards .
The impact of the awards is a bit like a beacon in the wine market, as in the case of Gambero Rosso with Tramin's Alto Adige Gewurztraminer Doc Nussbaumer , in fact since 1999 this GewĂĽrztraminer has won the highest recognition of three glasses, this attests to the Tramin winery its primary position for its historic grape variety, GewĂĽrztraminer.

How does the Gambero Rosso evaluation work?
The “Tre Bicchieri” were introduced in 1986 thanks to Daniele Cernilli and the idea of the name is very simple, with one bottle you fill six glasses so imagining sharing the bottle with another person if you get to drink your three glasses it means that the wine was really good.
Today we have reached the 38th edition of the guide, despite the years the evaluation process is always accurate and impartial, based on blind tastings, Gambero Rosso manages to identify the wines that stand out for their unique characteristics, exceptional organoleptic qualities and loyalty to the expression of the terroir.
When you think about this guide, one of the most loved and awarded wines in Italy here is the Gewurztraminer Nussbaumer , the white wine par excellence from the Tramin winery: their maximum expression of the grape variety.
In this context, the Tramin winery with its Nussbaumer represents an emblematic example, having received the twentieth consecutive "Tre Bicchieri" from the Gambero Rosso "Vini d'Italia" guide.
A wine emblematic of the Italian style of this vine, thanks to a synergy of ancient memory preserved in the name of the wine itself: the Nussbaumer farm in Termeno, with a tradition of over 700 years in the cultivation of the vineyard.
The winery has its origins in the nineteenth century when it was founded in 1898 by the parish priest of Termeno, Christian Schrott, also a member of the Austrian Parliament, with a vision of creating a cooperative that would unite the numerous winemakers in the area, based on principles of rigour, dedication , creativity and trust.
More than a century later, the heritage and original spirit of that era persist, maintaining a deep respect for the territory characterized by a fundamental microclimate in the production of wines with a marked varietal character and a clear and luminous personality.
Nussbaumer has earned its awards thanks to its being a full-bodied, deep, spicy, juicy wine, characterized by an intense aroma, freshness and a marked minerality that is accentuated with ageing, a traminer with its classic aromas of great intensity capable of maintaining pleasantness and freshness even with aging.

Gambero Rosso plays a crucial role in the selection of wines, with a particular focus on the quality-price ratio by combining the analysis of aspects such as taste, aroma, complexity and loyalty to the terroir with a consideration of the value offered to the consumer.
This is the case of Deperi's Riviera Ligure Ponente Vermentino Doc, an excellence that is even more interesting from a price point of view, in fact we are talking about a white wine that has the ability to transport you to the Ligurian terraces overlooking the sea, caressed by the fresh breeze below the summer sun.
In 1800 Clemente Deperi began his project on the Ligurian terraces and today the story continues thanks to his great-grandson Paolo, creating this bottle of Vermentino with aromas that recall the Mediterranean scrub while the mouth is fresh, tasty and balanced.
A perfect wine as an aperitif or with seafood dishes such as pasta with seafood or grilled fish.

Another example of a guide, which more than any other looks at green production, is Slow Wine, the only guide in Italy to visit all the wineries reviewed to allow its readers to choose not only the best wines, but those made with clean agriculture.
One of the wines awarded with Vino Slow, the highest recognition, is "Luogo d'Agosto" THE classic method of Alessio Brandolini, a young oenologist, who grew up among the vineyards in a family of winemakers, whose aim was to try to reach and improve the work of the generations that preceded him.
Produced from Pinot Noir vineyards located in the municipalities of San Damiano al Colle and MontĂą Beccaria, it expresses hints of peach, balsamic herbs and star anise which assert themselves in the mouth with good acidity, flavor and persistence.
The "Luogo d'Agosto" is perfect if you want to raise the bar for the entire meal, so choose the right company and this sparkling wine will repay you from aperitif to dessert.
